GARDENRAISINGS 2010
POSTED MAY 25, 2010

Hello gracious/giving volunteer crew — It’s time for some action! theMOVE is putting together several garden-raisings for early June.  We’ll be bringing together 5-10 volunteers in community members’ backyards to help them build their raised-bed vegetable gardens.  Most of our soil around here is too contaminated with lead to grow food in… our solution is one we’ll create together.  We’d love for you to be involved — come to help, come to share, come to learn!  Please sign up soon as we have limited spaces which will fill up quickly.

* Sun June 6th @ 10am-1pm – Mid-Somerville (2 sites) – build backyard gardens
* Fri June 11th @ 10am-12pm – Elizabeth Peabody House (map) – help set up learning gardens for EPH’s summer youth programs
* Sat June 12th @ 12:30pm-2pm – Davis/Ball Sq (3 sites) – build backyard gardens

We also have an additional amazing volunteer opportunity:
* Sat June 5th @ 1-4pm – Sustainability Street Team hits Davis/Ball Square – go door-to-door in teams (with free giveaways) to start dialogue with neighbors about urban gardening and to invite them to our upcoming gardenraisings — important work + lots of fun!
