TO BE OF USE
I want to be with people who submerge
in the task, who go into the fields to harvest
and work in a row and pass the bags along,
who are not parlor generals and field deserters
but move in a common rhythm
when the food must come in or the fire be put out.

The work of the world is common as mud.
Botched, it smears the hands, crumbles to dust.
But the thing worth doing well done
has a shape that satisfies, clean and evident.

ALL LIFE IS INTERRELATED
“It really boils down to this: that all life is interrelated. We are all caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied into a single garment of destiny. Did you ever stop to think that you can’t leave for your job in the morning without being dependent on most of the world? We aren’t going to have peace on earth until we recognize this basic fact of the interrelated structure of all reality.” (remixed from Martin Luther King, “A Christmas Sermon on Peace”)

IT’S ALL OVER!watch our youtube video!
What an incredible season it’s been — thank you to all the beautiful people, from every corner of Boston, who joined us out this year. Sustainability at its core is about our survival, interbound. Together we labored for ourselves and others. We exposed our interdependency, our impact, and our agency. And we connected — to amazing fresh food, to the labor and the land that sustain us, and to each other. Connecting with you continues to inspire us, and motivates us to keep building. Happy 2011!
